Green Energy Feasibility Headquarters Building Program Plan - Discovery Communications:
Evaluated the current energy usage practices and developed an Energy Management Program Plan that will provide energy savings using the best available green technology. Conducted an evaluation of the building to determine the tasks required to obtaining the coveted Platinum LEED Certification through the U.S. Green Buildings Council. CQI oversaw the process of this certification. On December 20th, 2007 Discovery Communications was awarded the prestigeous Platinum LEED Certification; one of only eight in the United States and two on the East Coast.
Green Building Assessment – AC&R Insulation Company, Inc.: Developed recommendations to modify the existing building design to increase energy efficiency and determine the feasibility of the installation of Green and advanced technology applications in the building. CQI oversaw the Silver LEED Certification awarded to AC&R.
Existing Facility LEED Assessment Study – M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Planning, Montgomery County, Maryland:
Conducted a study of existing buildings to determine compliance with the existing buildings using LEED criteria to determine budget requirements and program needs for the next three years. Is currently evaluating possible Silver LEED Certification.
Columbia, Maryland, Community Green Technology Study - Columbia Association, Columbia, Maryland:
Broad-based study of Green and energy technology for application community-wide for residences and businesses located n the planned community of Columbia, Maryland. Study includes the assessment of alternative energy applications to serve community needs, including solar, wind, geo-thermal and bio-decimal generator applications.
Recycling and Solid Waste Management Program – M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Planning:
Multi-year project management assignment to implement a recycling and solid waste management program to achieve Montgomery County mandates. The program began in 2003 and has to date surpassed the mandated 50% recycling rate. Additionally, overall volumes of solid waste have been reduced by 25%. Green procurement practices have been implemented to use recycled and non-hazardous products throughout the commission.
Energy Resource Optimization and Zero Discharge Waste Management Plan – Pitney-Bowes Corporation, Stanford, Connecticut: Energy management program to include project development and implementation. The program reduced energy consumption by 22% by process changes. The project included the assessment of hazardous waste streams to determine best management practices to reduce waste volumes by the application of industrial ecology principles. As a result, Pitney Bowes was named the EPA Corporate Partner of the Year in 1999.
